Front Door Leadership, LLC was founded by Shajmil Smith, a healthcare executive with over 20 years of business management experience. She understands what it takes to deliver powerful impact on people and business and is certain that it starts with leading from where you are. Through thrilling business wins and important lessons, Shajmil created Front Door Leadership, a framework and training program that leads to increased and more effective personal and team leadership. 

Shajmil began her career as a management consultant with Accenture, delivering critical client outcomes including business process re-engineering, organizational design, and new product capabilities. Choosing family over business travel, she then pivoted to Kaiser Permanente where she led the delivery of new products, streamlined operations, and digital capabilities that improved the healthcare consumer experience. Over the years, the importance of people development and team leadership took prominence, and Front Door Leadership was born.

With a true heart for helping others grow in their leadership and personal success, Shajmil has led large and complex corporate strategies in the healthcare industry that have yielded multi-millions in new revenue, improved customer satisfaction and operational performance.   She has a proven track record of delivering strong business results with companies that have (or would) be considered on the Fortune 500, and have led teams both directly and in matrixed environments. Shajmil has held executive roles in product management, program management, and healthcare operations.   She has the ability to define strategies and transform them into more detailed and actionable steps in order to transition from concept to reality.  

Although business success has fulfilled many goals over the years, her success as a team leader and people developer is what she is most proud of.  She has learned valuable lessons from the people she's been honored to lead and mentor. These lessons range from challenging her beliefs, focusing on team culture, encouraging dissent, showing vulnerability, and setting high (yet clear) standards for her and her team’s performance.  These lessons and others, will improve your ability to lead projects and change initiatives, in addition to your ability to lead those you are responsible for developing and growing.

Shajmil holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of South Florida and Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Central Florida. Throughout her career she has completed several leadership development programs, including the Executive Leadership Program at the Harvard Business School. Currently enrolled in the Georgetown Leadership Coaching program.
